Therapy for Adolescents
Adolescence can be a challenging time, with young people navigating changes in relationships, school, identity, emotions, and increasing independence. Anxiety, depression, low mood, stress, and difficulties adjusting to life changes can affect a young person’s wellbeing and day-to-day functioning.
At NLC Psychology, our psychologists provide evidence-based, developmentally appropriate therapy for adolescents aged approximately 12 years and older. Therapy is tailored to each young person’s individual needs, strengths, goals, and developmental stage, with a focus on building practical coping strategies, confidence, self-understanding, and resilience in a safe and supportive environment.
We work collaboratively with young people and, where appropriate, their parents or carers to help them navigate challenges and develop skills that support their wellbeing both now and into the future.
For younger children, we also provide assessment and treatment for insomnia and other sleep difficulties.
