BUSHFIRE RECOVERY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
An initiative of the Australian Government
In a program know as the Bushfire Recovery Access Initiative, up to 10 medicare-rebated sessions with a psychologist are available to anyone whose mental health has been negatively affected by any of the recent bushfires across Australia.
Even better, people presenting for "bushfire services" do not need to have a GP referral or to be diagnosed as having a mental health disorder.
People who have accessed these 10 "bushfire services" may be able to access a further 10 sessions under Medicare if they are also eligible for a GP Mental Health Care Plan.
